Man United’s transfer strategy is all over the place, and now they’ve turned to Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo. It’s a panic buy, plain and simple. United’s attack has been toothless, and they’re hoping Mbeumo can somehow fix it. But let’s be honest, he’s not the world-class finisher they need.
Brentford’s Mbeumo has shown flashes of brilliance, but he’s not consistent enough. United’s scouts must be seeing something the rest of us aren’t. His work rate is decent, but he’s not the answer to United’s lack of cutting edge in front of goal.
Defensively, United are still a shambles. They need leaders at the back, not more forwards. The mentality at Old Trafford is weak, and this signing won’t change that. United’s problems run deeper than just adding another attacker.
