Football Daily | Lucas Paquetá is finally released from limbo. But what happens next?
After nearly two years of uncertainty, Lucas Paquetá can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The West Ham midfielder has been cleared of the gambling charges that had cast a shadow over his career. For those who had faith in his innocence, it’s time to collect on that bet. The allegations suggested Paquetá was involved in spot-fixing, deliberately getting booked to benefit gamblers back in Brazil. Had he been found guilty, a lifetime ban from football was on the cards. Thankfully, that scenario has been avoided, and Paquetá can now focus on his game without the weight of these accusations.
In the world of football rumors, Kieffer Moore has been described as ‘prolific’ in today’s Rumour Mill. With 60 goals in 203 Championship games, the label might seem a bit generous. While his record is respectable, it doesn’t quite scream ‘prolific.’ At an average of one goal every 3.4 games, Moore’s tally would translate to about 13 goals over a full Championship season. If that’s the new standard for prolific, then my own 14 goals in the 1990 Primary 5 Glasgow School League season might just qualify me for the same title. But let’s not get carried away.
